Welcome to Southern Peninsula Concert Band

The Southern Peninsula Concert Band is a not-for-profit community band with a long, proud history of service to the Mornington Peninsula.

Our regular performances include Anzac Day Parades, Christmas Carol Concerts, Retirement Village Performances and Community Market Day appearances. We are celebrating our 60th year in 2025!

TIME: 8:00 to 10:00 pm
(with 15 minute break at 9:00 pm for Tea, Coffee and Biscuits)

Players Wanted!

No auditions - All are welcome - Any standard!
(The band plays music from Grade 3 to about Grade 5)

If you play:  Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Alto Saxophone, Tenor Saxophone, Baritone Saxophone, French Horn, Trumpet, Trombone, Euphonium, Tuba, Electric Bass, Mallets (Tuned Percussion), Timpani - you are most welcome to come along.

We especially need at the moment:
Clarinet, Oboe, Bassoon, Alto Saxophone, Percussion, Trombone, Tuba, and extra French Horns.

BOOKINGS NOW OPEN! ** SOUNDS LIKE CHRISTMAS CONCERT 2025 ** When: Saturday 6th December @ 7:30pm Where: MPAS @ The Briars 450 Nepean Hwy, Mount Martha Vic 3934 (follow the road up the hill to the observatory) Band members please arrive at 6.30pm. Get ready to embark on a dazzling musical journey beneath a canopy of stars at our "Sounds Like Christmas" spectacular at the MPAS Observatory! This enchanting evening will transport you to a wonderland, where the spirit of the season shines bright. Hosted by the Mornington Peninsula Astronomical Society The Southern Peninsula Concert Band will serenade you with timeless Christmas classics and modern renditions, all while surrounded by a breath taking celestial backdrop at the observatory. Join us for a heart warming celebration of yuletide joy, where the magic of music and the brilliance of Christmas stars unite to create an unforgettable experience for the whole family. Concert will be indoors if the weather is inclement or outdoors if weather allows. Reserve your spot early as indoor seating is limited. The Annual General Meeting for the Southern Peninsula Concert Band will be held after a shortened practice on Friday 24th October 2024. Practice starts at 8pm as usual. Band members are asked to bring a plate for supper after the meeting.

The Heart of the Community Market is held on 'the old Carnival site' on the Rosebud Foreshore at 996 Nepean Road, Rosebud. The market runs from 8am to 1pm on the second Saturday of each month. This was the Rosebud Community School Market. The concert band will perform between 10am and 12 noon on Saturday 14th December 2024, near the entrance to the carpark for the Sea Scouts hall. Please arrive by 9.00am to help set up.

We are extremely grateful to the Rosebud RSL for their ongoing support of the Southern Peninsula Concert Band. Our band relies on Grants to be able to keep operating. One way we show our support of the Rosebud RSL is by having a dinner for the band members at the start of each term of practice.
